A bit of a coda to my post on Symfony HttpClient — I reported the bug to the Symfony project and it was, unsurprisingly, closed with one of those annoying engineering responses: Expected Behavior.

In this case Expected Behavior means

We acknowledge the behavior and don’t know how to fix it right now and don’t want to research how to fix it right now so we’re going to close the issue

Which is fair, I guess, except for the closing the issue part. I’ve always thought it’s OK to have known issues/defects in your tracker — even if you don’t have a solution now that doesn’t mean someone else isn’t going to have a solution in the future.
